TWO-DAY
AVALANCHE SAFETY COURSE
Level
- You have already experiences in ski-touring and you are a good skier.
- You know the basics of snow/avalanche theories and you know how to use your safety equipment.
- Your endurance is good for 1'200m difference in altitude.
Program
- day 1
on a short tour we will recapitulate the theories about snow, avalanches, safety measures and how to behave accordingly to the conditions. In the evening we will exercise our skills with the avalanche transceiver and learn how to plan a tour.
- day 2
You will guide a part of the tour that we planed the day before.
Decision making, risk-management, orientation and how to behave accordingly will be the aim of today.
Where
wherever we find the best snow- and weather conditions.
the location will be communicated two days before the tour.
To / from
carpooling
meeting point: Sihlpost Zürich (near the central station), or at the starting point of the tour.
Accommodation
I will organize a hotel for the overnight stay.
Cost
360 CHF for organisation and guiding.
not incl.: accommodation, food, public transport, cable car
Number of participants
min. 4 / max. 6
Equipment
normal skitouring equipment, including avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe.
